We continue our review of 捕手基本型五法 Torite Kihon Gata Goho. Tonight was all about 表逆突 omote gyaku tsuki. After showing the kihon, I spent some quality study of ukemi for the uke in this kata.
I described 5 types of ukemi, but we only did 4. First was a katate zempo kaiten. Then mute zempo kaiten. Next was a katate koho kaiten. Then yoko nagare. We left the mute koho kaiten for another time. This part of training the kihon is equally important to being tori. You only “know” kihon if you study both.
