裏一足 Ri Issoku

鶴の一足 Tsuru no Issoku

鶴の一足 tsuru no issoku. It had been a couple of years since I had practiced this kata and it took me half the class to remember one of the kuden that makes the whole thing work. I'll have to include this secret in the next training video for Rojodojo.

my 六尺棒術 Rokushakubō Jutsu video exploring 船張 Funa Bari. The full video at Rojodojo explores the basic 面打払型 men uchi harai gata, 裾 跳ね上げ suso hane age, and the concept of juuji 十字.

we explored the bojutsu kata 船張 funa bari. After reviewing the basic form, I showed the critical method of using an arc in each strike. This makes it very difficult for the swordsman to block or evade.

Bujinkan Bojutsu 差合 Sashi Ai

the bojutsu kata 差合 sashiai. For me understanding the swordsman's defense and how to break through it starts in unarmed taijutsu and what we explored with this earlier tonight. I showed how to deliver the initial tsuki to expose do. Then with the principle of chikara o nuku, the uke will nearly fall on the bo as you strike into gedan.
